Europcar Great Britain Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2010 and 31-Dec-2012

Minimum Age
21 Years old: MBMN, ECMN, CCMR, CDMR (Young drivers surcharge is applicable)
23 Years old: IDMR, CCAR, IVMR, IWMR, CWMR, SDAR, SDMR (Young drivers surcharge is applicable)
25 Years old: FVMR, PWAR, PDAR, LDAR

Maximum Age Limit
There is no upper age limit except at the following locations where the maximum age limit is 75 years: Pembroke, Carmarthen, Plymouth, Exeter, Newquay and Taunton.
Please Note: For drivers aged between 21 and 25 (*21-23 years at London Croydon South & **21-30 years at Bradford), Mastercover Plus (Risk Reduction Cover), Peace of Mind, Risk Reduction Cover Plus and Windscreen & Tyres Waiver cannot be purchased to waive the excess at the following locations: London Lewisham, London Kings Cross, London Fulham, London Marble Arch, London Kennington, London Croydon South* and Bradford**. In these cases the full CDW/DW excess is always applicable.

Minimum Driving Licence Period
1 Year. Driver must present valid driving licence at time of rental.

Drivers License Requirements
Drivers must have held a full national licence for at least 1 year, which must be presented at time of rental. Visitors to the UK - All visitors to the UK must present a full valid license. Licences issued overseas must be clearly identifiable as a driving licence, otherwise an International Driving Licence will be required. A Passport must also be produced if not a UK resident. UK residents who hold the new photo card licence must also present the paper counterpart at the start of the rental. Endorsements are only shown on the paper counterpart so customers MUST produce both documents. Holders of the old style Uk paper licence must also provide an additional form of photographic ID in the form of a Full Valid Passport, Armed Forces ID Card or a Police Warrant Card, no other form of identification will be accepted. UK residents that hold a non-EU licence may drive in the UK for up to 12 months from the time you become resident. After 12 months your overseas licence will be deemed illegal in the UK and it must be exchanged for the UK equivalent. UK residents that hold a non-UK EU licence, your License is valid until the age of 70 or for 3 years after becoming a UK resident – whichever is longest. A renter holding a non-UK licence must produce a full valid passport at time of rental. Holders of any licence that does not show the current address must also produce proof of current address in the form of a Current Credit Finance Agreement, Current Utilities Bill, or Current Bank Statement. All renters with a UK home address will need to pass an Authenticate check as verification of residence at their given address. Any customer failing an Authenticate check will not be allowed to rent.

Condition of Vehicle Requirements
Vehicle must be returned in the same condition as when rented, normal wear & tear accepted. The customer is responsible for the cost of any new damage found at rental termination up to the amount of their damage excess liability.

One-way: Over Seas Cover / Cross Boarder Restrictions
Charge: £58.33 (Not included in the rates)
Vehicles may be taken abroad but renters will be required to purchase Overseas cover (breakdown cover, VE103 and Green Card) at a cost of £58.33 + VAT (£70.00 including VAT). This applies to vehicles going to the Republic of Ireland also. Any vehicle rented (irrespective of insurance cover) requires written permission from Europcar UK by means of obtaining a completed VE103 form prior to departure. Countries which you are allowed to travel to are: Andorra, Austria, Belgium , Denmark , Finland , France , Germany , Gibraltar , Ireland , Iceland , Italy , Litchenstein , Luxembourg , Netherlands , Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Cars may not be driven into any countries outside those listed above. The following vehicles are not allowed to be taken overseas: PDAR, PWAR and LDAR. Please be advised that due to a change in law in Germany, it is mandatory for all vehicles crossing the border into Germany to have winter tyres fitted during the Snow & Icy conditions. Customers will be fined on the spot if they are stopped by police and found to not have the appropriate winter tyres. Please note we do not supply winter tyres and any customer wishing to fit winter tyres must do so at their own cost and ensure that the rental vehicle is returned in the same condition as supplied without winter tyres.

Additional driver charge
All additional drivers must meet the age and license requirements set out below. The charge is £4.58 per day and £45.83 per rental (Not included in the rates).

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
